What should I wear for a headshot session? Most importantly, wear what you feel comfortable in. For a general ‘this is me’ headshot look, pick clothes that represent your identity and personality. You might also want to consider different looks to reflect a range of casting types. On the day, we can spend time deciding which outfits work best with different backdrops and setups so bring as many options as possible! It is always better to have too many options than too few. Think about colours that suit you and compliment your hair/skin/eyes. Earthy, neutral and natural tones work really well on everyone and dark jewel tones are always a winner too. Definitely bring some black and white options so you're sure to cover all bases. As well as a variety of colours you also want to bring a variety of necklines. Layering can be really effective and can add depth and interest to photos, so if you've got any shirts, blazers or jackets feel free to bring them along! Try to avoid big logos or heavy patterns as they can be a little distracting; we want to make sure that your face is the main focus. When planning your headshot looks, consider what you’ll be wearing on the bottom too as we often like to include some slightly longer compositions where the bottoms are visible.

What should I wear for a portrait session? For portrait sessions we'll be shooting full length and aiming for a more editorial/fashion style, so this is your chance to really have some fun when it comes to your wardrobe. Portrait shots are all about capturing your personality and highlighting what makes you different so we can play with as many options as possible. We can cover a range of styles including gym wear, lingerie, high fashion etc. Think bold; think out of the box! If you have any funky boots, heels, jackets, colourful suits - bring them and we can have a play! Instagram and Pinterest can be great sources of inspiration, so if you find something you love, save it and we can try to recreate it in our shoot. Pro Tip: We’d highly recommend looking online for statement pieces that you can wear to the shoot and really stand out in, then send them back! ASOS is great for this. If you’re booking a portrait session or a package that includes portraits & headshots, we’ll be aiming to shoot around 5 or 6 looks in total. We find it’s better to spend more time refining a smaller number of looks rather than trying to cram in too much!

How do I prepare for a vocal reel session?Firstly, choose your material. You can either record two full songs or a mix of four cuts, approximately 45 - 60 seconds each. Think of your songs as a highlights reel of everything your voice can do - so try to cover as many different aspects of your vocal performance as you can. Think about your casting range and the types of songs a casting director might want to hear from you, but most importantly choose songs you can sing with confidence and that show you in your strongest light. If you're not sure about material or need help with your cuts, we're here to help! We can advise you on what will work best for you. You'll need to find tracks to use as your accompaniment. We can use anything from Youtube or Spotify but if you're struggling, please don't worry - we'll work together to find a good option for us to use. Once you’ve found your tracks, send us the links along with the timings of each clip you’d like to use, and we’ll make sure they are downloaded ready for your session. This may sound obvious, but learn your material and know the lyrics. We want to record you performing from the heart rather than reading from a sheet of paper! Finally, look after your voice in the days leading up to your session. We want you to be feeling comfortable and confident so we can create a vocal reel that you'll be proud of.
